My New Family

Yesterday morning was when the much waited day finally arrived. Phantom gave birth to 8 beautiful little babies!!! Four little boys, four little girls. We have 5 white babies, 3 black babies!!! I'm such a happy granddaddy!!!

It just humbles me to the core how utterly miraculous the birth of these babies. Everything was perfect, the way it is meant to be. Phantom and her pups are doing so well. Phantom just dotes on the babies, never leaving the whelping box but for the necessities. Poor Gidget just creeps by as quickly as she can so that she doesn't incur Phantom's protective zealouness. She's quite happy to stay outside.

But a most interesting thing...she had exactly the same litter as last year - 2 little black girls, 2 little white girls, and 3 little white boys...only this year she added a little black boy. I wonder if that's the one she wants me to keep. She also gave birth to last year's litter on a Monday. This year was also on a Monday. Last year from 8-12 PM. This year from 8-12 AM. Pretty interesting, huh?

TODAY IS THE DUE DATE FOR TRIP'S DOG, "PHANTOM"

Trip,
I don't know if you will be emailing everyone puppy pictures again this year. But I hope you'll give us updates and pics on the blog as much as you like. In fact, I can set it up so that people can subscribe to the blog and get an email every time you post one. Might be easier than the old way.
Just a thought. Whatever works best for you.

Back from our Shoot in Washington DC

Trip, Joe Applebaum (producer) and myself (director) have just come back from Washington DC where we shot interviews and footage for the upcoming documentary about Trip his personal journey over the past four years that is so compelling that I think it's going to be an important documentary.
I hesitate to get into more details than that because there are many important people who do not yet know about this part of his life and will find out for the first time through this blog.
Trip? How much can we tell people?

Washington, DC

Trip, I'm finally turning back on the computer after a couple of days of down time. Joe and I both agree, that was one of the tougher shoots of both our careers. I can't imagine what it was like for you. I know that you held it together remarkably but if you're like me, there is probably some post traumatic stress or depression. The new babies will surely help, I hope. Stu

It wasn't easy, but I'm glad I did it. I realized afterwards that I haven't progressed as far as I thought I had in putting that part of life behind me. I hate the feelings and thoughts that appeared during the shoots. I thought I had grown past all that. Apparently, I haven't. The good thing was that I stepped away from things at the prison that night, so that's progress. It was, if nothing else, an extraordinarily humbling experience, and left me with far more gratitude of what came from that than even I thought I had...and that's a lot!!!

I just got back from Oklahoma City, where I was judging the Morgan National and World Championships. What a hoot! Had such a great time. Everyone is crazier than a cat's meow, and they're terrific!!! But Phantom doubled in size in the five days I was gone!!! She's SO big! She had a little trouble jumping up on our bed tonight! Haven't had time to see if I can feel any of the 100 or so puppies that are certainly in there, but as soon as I finish unpacking, the cuddling will begin. She goes into the vet tomorrow to determine exactly how many she's got in the oven.

Toothpaste press

Did I leave my toothpaste in our hotel room during the Santa Barbara Championship shoot. It has one of those things you twist and make the tube curl up so you don't waste what's inside. I sure do miss it. It came from the container store. Let me know -Stu

Welcome to your Blog, Trip

I hope this will be a comfortable spot for us to talk between ourselves about the documentary and keep people informed about all the exciting things happening to you.
